Sirens Serum: What Makes This Serum so Magical

When making serum for the face, allot of thought is put into it. When VE Cosmetics designed this vegan and cruelty free serum, they chose each oil for its specific properties. Here’s a bit more about each one.

Grapeseed Oil

It contains both anti oxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. These are essential for stopping acne in its tracks. This oil also has a high concentration of Linoleic acid which aids healing the skin.

Grape seed is a light oil and can be used by those with the most sensitive of skin. It’s also an excellent moisturiser as it doesn't clog your pores. Grapeseed oil is fantastic for oily skin too as it helps combat the over production of oil by moisturising the skin (oily skin is often caused by the skin because it’s actually dry and over compensates with oil to try and rectify the problem).

Along with all this goodness, grapeseed oil has an astringent quality-it helps tighten and close those pores and further preventing blackheads.

Grapeseed oil is rich in Polyphenols. These are anti inflammatory antioxidants and are known to help prevent aging as well as further preventing acne breakouts. Fine Lines/Wrinkles can also be erased with grapeseed oil. Amazingly, it has an effect on the skins elasticity making fine lines less pronounced.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree is amazing! Used in many different problematic skin care products, it can be used as an antibacterial, antiseptic, expectorant, anti viral, antimicrobial, fungicide, cicatrisant and even an insecticide.

This means not only does this stop bacteria, fungus, microbes and viruses intheir tracks (great for cleaning acne and any break outs) it also promotes healing, and will help with any scarring. Tea tree oil has been proven to be an amazing antiseptic on open wounds. It also has a stimulating effect on circulation, hormones and your immune system and can act like a shield against a lot of infections.

Aside from all this, there are still so many more benefits of Tea tree oil including relief from muscular aches and pains (due to its anti inflammatory nature) and its effect on stimulating blood flow to help speed up the healing process.

Grapefruit Oil

This oil can help get rid of excessive oil produced by your skin. It combats dryness and it also targets dark spots, wrinkles and fine lines. It’s also an antiseptic -great for helping clear up acne.

Grapefruit oil helps the body flush out toxins that can build up in your cells and lead to cellulite. Therefore a few drops of this in your bathwater and a gentle massage of areas you may be prone to cellulite may help you detox.

This amazing oil is an antioxidant and is very rich in vitamin C. The anti oxidants boost your skins regenerative abilities and help you maintain a more youthful appearance.

Grapefruit is also used to help alleviate PMS. Just add a drop or two of this serum to your bath or massage directly onto the soles of your feet and lower stomach to help balance out hormone function.

It’s a well known energy booster in aromatherapy and helps combat stress, anxiety and depression.

Geranium Oil

It's not just a pretty flower! Geranium oil was used by the Ancient Egyptians to promote beautiful skin. In modern times, it is commonly used in anti acne treatments to help reduce inflammation. It has the added benefits of helping to alleviate

anxiety and balance out your hormones too.

Geranium oil is one of the best essential oils for a range of skin issues such as oily skin, dermatitis and eczema. It will help to cleanse your skin and therefore helps to get rid of dirt, sebum, toxins and dead cells from your pores.

The main benefits of geranium oil are that it helps with inflammation, it improves circulation, and it helps to alleviate stress, anxiety and depression. It also helps tighten your pores. This amazing oil is a natural astringent so it will help tighten your skin and therefore minimise the look of fine lines and wrinkles. The astringent property will also help to contract and tighten your muscles which can stop your skin from sagging.

Geranium oil has antibacterial properties, so will help fight any infections and can stop any bacteria growing on your skin. It’s also a cicatrisant so it will improve your blood flow and circulation which in turn helps to speed up the healing process of any blemishes. It will also help fade the look of scars and spots on your skin.
